The goal of this project was to create an looping animation of a clownfish character illustration that David created. Motion in an animation should be believable and reflect natural movement. Observing the swimming behavior of real fish assisted greatly in this regard. Animation can be a complicated process but becomes more manageable when the components are first animated independently and then animated as a whole. Notice that David has animated almost every part of the fish to move independently and also together as a whole up and down. Notice that the fish even appears to be breathing like a real fish. All the tentacles of the sea anemone move independently as well as some of the corals in the foreground and the bubbles are constantly flowing to the surface. This smooth looping animation of the clownfish character is visually engaging, fun, interesting, and believable.
